- J.C. Penney Chairman/CEO, Mike Ullman, said “our five year plan is to make the internet the foundation for the architecture of the company...the future of retailing is all about multi-channel sales... we're channel agnostic (and) we don't care which way customers come in as long as they come in.” Additionally, new in-store web-enabled terminals are used by associates to help customers find items not in the store. Ullman said, “the in-store web terminals are not just about the shopper, but rather the entire experience of the sale through to the sales associate.”
